Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat flour or grind rolled oats into a fine powder
  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • ¼ cup fresh or dried cranberries finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon optional, for added flavor

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and prepare a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • 2. Combine the oat flour and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl.
  • 3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the applesauce, coconut oil, and egg until smooth.
  • 4. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients to form a firm dough.
  • 5. Fold in the chopped cranberries evenly.
  • 6. Lightly flour your work surface and roll the dough out to ¼-inch thickness.
  • 7. Cut the dough into strips approximately 5 inches long and ½ inch wide.
  • 8. Place the strips on the baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until firm and golden brown.
  • 9. Turn off the oven and allow the sticks to cool inside for 15 minutes for a crunchier texture.
  • 10. Let the sticks cool completely before serving, then store them in an airtight container

Notes

  • Store the sticks in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or in the fridge for two weeks.
  • You can freeze the sticks for longer storage; just thaw before serving.
  • For a softer texture, reduce the baking time by 5 minutes and skip the additional oven cooling step
