Ingredients
  

  • 12 cups popped popcorn about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
  • Optional: cooking spray or extra butter for hands

Instructions
 

  • 1. Pop the popcorn according to package directions. Remove any unpopped kernels. Place in a large heatproof bowl.
  • 2. In a medium saucepan, combine butter, sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until butter is melted and sugar dissolved.
  • 3. Bring mixture to a boil without stirring. Boil for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat. Stir in vanilla bean paste.
  • 4. Carefully pour hot syrup over popcorn. Stir gently until evenly coated.
  • 5. Cool until mixture is warm and pliable, about 5-10 minutes. Grease hands with butter or cooking spray.
  • 6. Form popcorn into 3-inch balls, pressing firmly.
  • 7. Place on wax paper or parchment to cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
