Ingredients

For the Latte

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder Use high-quality matcha for best flavor.
  • 1 cup warm milk (dairy or non-dairy) Can use almond, oat, or coconut milk as alternatives.
  • to taste sweetener sugar, honey, or syrup Adjust sweetness to preference.
  • as needed ice Ice Optional, for a chilled version.

Instructions

Prepare the Milk

  • Start by heating the milk in a small saucepan until it’s warm but not boiling. If making a cold version, skip this step.

Prepare the Matcha

  • In a separate bowl, sift the matcha powder to eliminate any clumps, ensuring a smooth drink.
  • Slowly whisk a couple of tablespoons of the warm milk into the matcha powder to create a thick paste.
  • Once the matcha is smooth, gradually stir in the remaining warm milk, whisking until fully combined and frothy.
  • If making an iced version, fill a glass with ice before pouring in the matcha mixture.

Sweeten and Serve

  • Add sweetener to taste and stir well to distribute sweetness evenly.
  • Serve immediately, and enjoy the deep green color and delightful aroma!

Notes

For best results, use quality matcha and adjust sweetness to your liking. Frothing milk enhances the texture, and variations with added flavors like vanilla or cinnamon can provide another dimension to the drink.
