Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced yellow onion
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 10.5 ounces can cream of mushroom soup
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked egg noodles for serving

Instructions
 

  • 1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with diced onion and minced garlic until cooked through.
  • 2. Drain the excess grease from the skillet.
  • 3. Return the skillet to the stove over medium heat. Add butter and melt.
  • 4. Stir in flour and whisk until absorbed by the butter.
  • 5. Pour in beef broth and whisk until the mixture thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  • 6. Reduce heat to medium; mix in sour cream and cream of mushroom soup until smooth.
  • 7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust thickness with more broth if needed.
  • 8. Return the beef to the skillet and heat through.
  • 9. Serve over cooked egg noodles.

Notes

For extra richness, use full-fat sour cream.
Adjust seasoning based on your preference.
