Preparation

  • In a pot, bring the water to a boil, then add the green tea leaves and baking soda. Stir gently.
  • Allow the mixture to boil for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it darkens in color.
  • Next, add the milk and sugar according to your taste. Continue boiling until the color transforms into a beautiful pink.
  • Stir in the crushed cardamom pods and let them infuse for a minute.
  • Carefully pour the chai into cups, garnishing each with chopped pistachios and almonds before serving.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Avoid overboiling the milk, and adjust sweetness according to your taste. Consider experimenting with different nuts for garnish.
