- 3 medium pears peeled and sliced
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 3 tablespoons old-fashioned oats
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
- Dash of nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon cold butter cubed
- 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts or pecans
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a baking dish.
2. Toss sliced pears with lemon juice and place in dish.
3. Mix sugars, oats, flour, and spices in a bowl.
4. Cut in cold butter until mixture becomes crumbly.
5. Stir in nuts and sprinkle over pear layer.
6. Bake for 30–35 minutes until topping is golden and fruit is bubbling.
7. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
To make it gluten-free, use almond flour instead of all-purpose.
