Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla bean paste until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
  • Stir in chocolate chips. Roll dough to about 1/4 inch thick and use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies. Place on prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

- For a flavor boost, chill the dough for a couple of hours before baking.
- Make sure butter is softened to ensure proper creaming with sugars.
