  • 1/4 cup coconut oil Fresh preferred for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup Adds sweetness without being overpowering.
  • 1/2 cup nut butter Can substitute with almond butter or sunflower seed butter.
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder For rich chocolaty flavour.
  • 1 cup oats Ensure oats are fresh.

Preparation

  • In a small pot, combine coconut oil, maple syrup, and nut butter over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
  • Once smooth, add in the cocoa powder and mix until there are no lumps.
  • Remove the pot from heat and stir in the oats until the mixture is thick but easily moldable.
  • Drop heaping tablespoons of the mixture onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper, spacing them a bit apart.
  • Place the cookie sheet in the freezer for about 20 minutes, allowing the cookies to set.
  • Once firm, store the cookies in the refrigerator or freezer.

Notes

For best results, use fresh ingredients, don't overheat the mixture, and store in an airtight container.
