Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Orange/black frosting & candy for decoration

Instructions
 

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tray.
  • 2. Whisk flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • 3. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, then add eggs and vanilla.
  • 4. Mix dry and wet ingredients, alternating with buttermilk.
  • 5. Spoon batter into liners, bake 18–20 minutes, then cool.
  • 6. Decorate with frosting, candy eyes, and Halloween toppers.

Notes

Store at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate up to 5 days. Best decorated the same day for freshness.
