  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 5 oz Ghirardelli dark or milk chocolate melting wafers
  • Valentine’s sprinkles

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Melt butter and semi-sweet chocolate morsels in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Allow to cool slightly.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together sugar and eggs until well combined.
  • Add vanilla bean paste and sift in cocoa powder, mixing until incorporated.
  • Fold in flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow brownies to cool completely, then melt chocolate wafers according to package instructions.
  • Drizzle melted chocolate over brownies and decorate with Valentine’s sprinkles.
  • Cut into 24 squares and serve.

Notes

- Ensure the butter and chocolate mixture is cooled before adding to the eggs to prevent cooking them.
- Brownies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
