  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar

Ganache Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces chocolate, chopped

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan with flour.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well mixed.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the oil, water, vanilla extract, and vinegar until combined.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until you achieve a smooth batter—don’t overmix; just a few stirs will suffice.
  • Transfer the batter into the prepared cake pan, ensuring it’s evenly spread out.

Baking

  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely in the pan.

Ganache Preparation

  • Heat the cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it just starts to boil.
  • Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate in a bowl and stir until you have a smooth, glossy mixture.
  • Once the cake is completely cooled, gently pour the ganache over the top, letting it drip down the sides.

Notes
