Ingredients

  • 1 large can 21 ounces apple pie filling
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 can biscuit dough 7.5 ounces
  • 10 individually wrapped caramels cut in half
  • Oil for frying vegetable oil

Instructions

  • 1. In a heavy skillet, add 2.5 quarts of vegetable oil and heat over medium heat.
  • 2. In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon, then set aside.
  • 3. Open the can of biscuits and separate them. Flatten each biscuit slightly with your palm.
  • 4. Spoon 1 tablespoon of apple pie filling onto the center of each flattened biscuit.
  • 5. Place two caramel halves on top of the apple filling.
  • 6. Pinch the dough together to seal and roll into a ball.
  • 7. Using a slotted spoon, gently place up to two pie bombs into the hot oil, rolling continuously to brown all sides.
  • 8. Once golden, remove pie bombs with the slotted spoon and roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • 9. Set on a cooling rack to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Ensure the oil is not too hot to avoid burning.
Serve with a drizzle of caramel or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
