Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces firm, ripe bananas — peeled and sliced into thin rounds Use evenly sized bananas for consistent cooking.
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (or melted butter) Melted butter can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar (or coconut sugar) Coconut sugar is a less-refined option.
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon Adjust according to taste.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Slice the bananas into even, thin discs about 1/8 inch thick.
  • In a small bowl, combine the sugar and ground cinnamon, mixing well.
  • Toss the banana slices in coconut oil or melted butter until glistening, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over them and coat evenly.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3–5 minutes.
  • Place the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
  • Air-fry the banana rounds for about 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time. Monitor closely to prevent burning.

Cooling and Serving

  • Transfer the chips to a wire rack to cool completely, as they will firm up.
  • Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container once completely cool.

Notes

Ensure banana slices are uniform in thickness for even cooking. Adjust sweetness by varying sugar amount. Monitor during the last minutes of cooking to prevent burning. Store in an airtight container for optimal crunch.
