  • 1 cup brewed coffee, chilled Use a good quality coffee
  • 1 cup milk Whole milk or dairy alternative
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce Plus extra for drizzling
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream Choose a flavor that complements caramel
  • to taste Ice cubes Add more for thicker consistency

Preparation

  • Start with 1 cup of brewed coffee and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or until cold.
  • In a blender, combine the chilled coffee, milk, caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream, and a handful of ice cubes. Blend on high until smooth and creamy; this should take about 30 seconds.
  • Stop blending once you achieve a smooth texture with a few ice particles remaining. Scrape down the sides of the blender if needed.
  • Pour a small amount of the frappe into a glass, taste it, and adjust the sweetness by adding more caramel sauce if needed.
  • Pour the frappe into tall glasses. Top each drink with a swirl of whipped cream and a drizzle of extra caramel sauce.

Notes

For a stronger coffee flavor, use a darker roast. Experiment with different flavored ice creams and serve immediately for the best experience. Store leftovers in the freezer separately.
