Brown Sugar Peach Cake (Cozy Summer Dessert Recipe)

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar plus extra for topping
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 ripe peaches peeled and sliced

Instructions
 

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan.
  • 2. In a bowl, whisk melted butter and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla.
  • 3. Stir in sour cream until smooth.
  • 4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • 5. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  • 6. Pour batter into pan. Arrange peach slices on top. Sprinkle with extra brown sugar.
  • 7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, until golden and toothpick comes out clean.
  • 8. Cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing. Enjoy warm or chilled!

Notes

You can use canned peaches, just be sure to drain them well.
