Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cold butter cut in pieces
  • 6 cups chopped peeled tart apples 6 medium
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions
 

  • 1. Heat oven to 375°F. Spray an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray.
  • 2. In a medium bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cut in butter until crumbly. Set aside.
  • 3. In a large bowl, mix apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Spread in dish. Sprinkle streusel on top.
  • 4. Bake 30 to 35 minutes until topping is golden brown and juices bubble.
  • 5. Cool at least 20 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use tart apples like Granny Smith for best results.
Lemon juice prevents apples from browning.
