Ingredients
  

  • 4 medium Granny Smith apples peeled and sliced 1/4" thick
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions
 

  • 1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • 2. Add apple slices and sauté for 2 minutes until coated in butter.
  • 3. Sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg over apples.
  • 4. Pour in water and reduce heat to medium-low.
  • 5. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender and sauce is thickened.

Notes

Use Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples for best results.
Adjust sweetness by adding more sugar to taste.
