Description
A quick and comforting pizza grilled cheese sandwich with gooey mozzarella, pepperoni, and pizza sauce packed between buttery grilled bread.
Ingredients
4 slices sourdough bread
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
12 pepperoni slices
2 tbsp pizza sauce
2 tbsp butter (or garlic butter)
Optional: grated Parmesan, fresh basil, red pepper flakes
Instructions
1. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
2. On the unbuttered side, spread pizza sauce.
3. Layer mozzarella and pepperoni evenly.
4. Top with second bread slice, buttered side out.
5. Heat skillet on medium-low, cook sandwich 3–4 minutes per side.
6. Flip once until golden brown and cheese is melted.
7. Serve hot with optional marinara dip.
Notes
Add fresh basil or red pepper flakes for a flavor twist.
Mix mozzarella with cheddar or provolone for variety.
For a crispy crust, sprinkle Parmesan on the buttered side before grilling.
