Description

Enjoy the delicious and healthy flavors of the Mediterranean with these easy-to-make turkey meatballs.


Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground turkey (93/7 lean)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 large red onion, grated

1 egg

1/2 cup breadcrumbs or almond flour

1/4 cup chopped fresh dill

1/2 tbsp dried oregano

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

2 tbsp olive oil


Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey and minced garlic.

2. Grate the red onion into the bowl, or chop finely.

3. Add egg, breadcrumbs, dill, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.

4. Form into 14 meatballs.

5. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook for 7-8 minutes, turning frequently, until internal temperature reaches 165°F.

6. While cooking, prepare tzatziki sauce.

7. Serve meatballs over rice or with a Tomato Cucumber Feta Salad.

Notes

Use almond flour for a gluten-free option.

Ensure meatballs reach an internal temperature of 165°F for safety.
