Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup oat flour (or grind rolled oats into a fine powder)
- ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
- ¼ cup fresh or dried cranberries, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 egg
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for added flavor)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and prepare a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- 2. Combine the oat flour and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl.
- 3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the applesauce, coconut oil, and egg until smooth.
- 4. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients to form a firm dough.
- 5. Fold in the chopped cranberries evenly.
- 6. Lightly flour your work surface and roll the dough out to ¼-inch thickness.
- 7. Cut the dough into strips approximately 5 inches long and ½ inch wide.
- 8. Place the strips on the baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until firm and golden brown.
- 9. Turn off the oven and allow the sticks to cool inside for 15 minutes for a crunchier texture.
- 10. Let the sticks cool completely before serving, then store them in an airtight container
Notes
- Store the sticks in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or in the fridge for two weeks.
- You can freeze the sticks for longer storage; just thaw before serving.
- For a softer texture, reduce the baking time by 5 minutes and skip the additional oven cooling step
