Description
Comfort food at its finest, with tender, cinnamon-spiced apples.
Ingredients
4 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced 1/4″ thick
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup water
Instructions
1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
2. Add apple slices and sauté for 2 minutes until coated in butter.
3. Sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg over apples.
4. Pour in water and reduce heat to medium-low.
5. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are tender and sauce is thickened.
Notes
Use Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples for best results.
Adjust sweetness by adding more sugar to taste.
